About Hi-Way Burger & Fry

I’m excited to introduce Hi-Way Burger & Fry, a laid-back hamburger restaurant that feels like a true neighborhood staple the moment you hear about it. Located at 3853 24th St, San Francisco, CA 94114, United States, Hi-Way Burger & Fry has that classic, no-fuss charm that instantly makes you think of comfort food done right. This is the kind of spot people recommend casually, yet confidently, because it consistently delivers a satisfying experience without trying too hard. The focus here is simple and honest: hearty burgers, crispy fries, and familiar flavors that hit the spot whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or settling in for a relaxed meal. The vibe stays friendly and approachable, which makes it easy to swing by solo, bring friends, or even grab something on the go. Service options like outdoor seating, takeaway, dine-in, delivery, and on-site services add flexibility, so Hi-Way Burger & Fry fits smoothly into different plans and schedules. At the same time, the offerings lean into comfort and convenience, pairing classic comfort food with alcohol options such as beer and wine, which adds an easygoing, grown-up twist to the experience. Because of this balance, the restaurant works just as well for a casual lunch as it does for an unplanned dinner. I often describe Hi-Way Burger & Fry as the kind of place that doesn’t need hype, since its reputation is built on consistency and flavor rather than trends. Everything about it feels straightforward yet satisfying, from the menu style to the welcoming atmosphere. If you appreciate hamburger restaurants that prioritize taste, comfort, and a relaxed setting, Hi-Way Burger & Fry naturally earns a spot on your must-try list while quietly blending into the everyday rhythm of San Francisco dining.

Classic smash burger. What an excellent place on the corner of Main Street in noe valley on 24th st. Fun interior with food that’s fresh and opened late. Got garlic fries with double smash burger, definitely amazing with their ranch. Wish much success

Another amazing meal at Hi Way. As always, the burgers were tasty and huge. We also ordered Garlic Fries and a couple shakes.

A very pleasant place. The music, atmosphere, and food are all outstanding. The burgers are delicious and feel truly homemade - not overloaded with flavors like in many burger places. The buns are light, airy, and absolutely wonderful.

Had their cheeseburger and onion rings. I could taste the fressness of their ingredients. The burger was simple and classic. Not overly salty or greesy. It’s not eye-opening at first, but the more you make your way through your burger, the more you’ll enjoy it. Onion rings were a bit too sweet to my taste. The restaurant itself is clean with a cute retro vibe. I’ll be happy to comeback.

April 2025: Stopped by for burgers and fries. The place was very busy. Lots of people eating here and to go orders. So we waited a little longer than I expected... But the wait was well worth it. I had a chicken sandwich that was very tasty. Our food was cooked to order, which made everything fresher and delicious . Sweet potato fries were pretty good. Will definitely be back again for more delicious food.

I have visited this place for the first time and it’s not going to be the last time. I will definitely be back. They make the best smash burger ever in a toasted sesame buns. Perfect balanced garlic fries and the crispiest onion rings. So delicious. They are very welcoming and very nice warm people. I would highly recommend them to anyone who loves burgers and delicious food.

Walked by this spot often and always loved how friendly they were so I stopped in for a double cheeseburger - was honestly blown away! Solid juicy grilled patties and fresh ingredients - doesn’t leave you feeling too “greasy” after either. Went back twice! Def one of my fave burger spots!!

A Modern Western Vibe with a Twist in Noe Valley Tucked into a corner in San Francisco’s charming Noe Valley, this burger spot feels like stepping onto the set of an old Western—if the saloon served plant-based patties and endless condiments. The atmosphere has a modern-meets-classic charm, and while the staff weren’t exactly rolling out a red carpet, their neutral reception kept things casual and unpretentious. I went for the Beyond Meat Burger, and here’s where I confess: I forgot to add cheese. A rookie mistake, and one I won’t be making again. The burger itself was flavorful, though I couldn’t help but notice that the Beyond Meat option costs more than its meaty counterpart—a quirk I’m still trying to process. Still, it earns a solid 7/10 in my book. What really stood out were the little extras. The self-serve station was a treasure trove of condiments: mayo, chili sauce, BBQ sauce, pickles, jalapeños—you name it. And the free drink refills? Always a win. But the true MVP? The sweet potato fries. Crispy, golden perfection. All in all, this spot serves up a solid burger experience with a side of Noe Valley charm. It’s the kind of place you’d happily wander into after a stroll, cowboy hat optional.
